My girl goes into heat around every 9 months. She was bred last May and whelped a litter over the summer.
I have never payed enough attention in the past to determine if whelping a litter effects their heat cycle ?
9 months from last heat would put her into heat around January and then again in Septmber, unless whelping the litter will effect this.
Every dog is different. I have had girls who stay with their usual heat cycle, even with pups, and others that cycle from the date of whelp.

both of my girls came in season 5 months after they had whelped which did affect the timing of their heat cycles.
I've never had it change the cycle of a female.

I've had both.
Based on my research and experience whelping a litter shouldn't change the time between cycle, all things being equal. But we are talking females and mother nature so any number of variables could come into play. You might be able to predict the next estrus give or take a month, but projecting a couple of cycles ahead is getting pretty iffy IMHO.
