There's always the canvas bumpers.
I am the first one to say "ya gotta die of something" and have put many less than desirable substances in my body during the course of my life. I would just like to know when something is less than healthy and be able to make a choice from there
I really like the DT Systems Soft Mouth bumpers and they are 100% made in USA and non-toxic, as are N&B's as mentioned above.
Some of the bumpers are also painted, like the black and white "flasher" type. Surely our good friends in china use safe paint on the dog toys, just like they do on toys for kids. Mallards are non toxic, and the dogs love them.
Hey foks, we are talking about bumpers here, not toxic waste. The article says no one really knows for sure the danger, if there is one. For 30 years I have had canvas, soft rubber and probably 5 different types of plastic, nothing has ever gone wrong with any dog ! Including the dogs that shredded, ate and passed all the diffeent type of bumpers.
I thinks is is good to be informed about potential dnagers, but in this alarmist climate we seem to live in, use a little common sense here!
They probably use left over Red Dye #2 for color.
Every one who had a retriever that lived well into geriatrics after a lifetime of retrieving bumpers raise your hand.
