I've got a couple of buddys that have "borrowed" the shrouds off of Gonia whistles and attached them to the Fox's with some type of glue. Thats a good idea if you dont want the big ole honkin, banana sized, green monster shroud hanging from your neck
I really like the smaller Dallesasse, Hunt Tester whistle $15....... seems just as loud as the larger Green Monster & Dallesasse Field Trailer.
A shorter version of the original, proven to be the ideal whistle for hunting and hunt tests

Comfortable shoes.

I could have typed your post almost word for word. I too am new, am a hunter first (including upland) and currently have no plans to test…and will be getting my first lab very soon.
Please keep me updated if you get any of the products and have further thought.
I’m leaning toward Smartworks because it can be bought in what seems to be smaller segments and as mentioned it has been said to be beginner friendly….and I’m just a book guy.
Testing sounds fun, but I question how many obsessions one man can afford.
