I am watching an episode of "Hook, Line, and Dinner" on the Cooking Channel. The host is being taken noodling catfish in Oklahoma. His guide said that noodling will be outlawed within five years, he guarantees it. But he didn't explain why?
Why will noodling be outlawed?
Seems like they are catching the fish while there protecting there eggs,plus there catching the larger older fish..
I'm guessing they are worried about them taking too many big sows not to mention it friggin' dangerous.
they just started to allow it in Texas....the reason it will be outlawed is its usually done when the females are on their egg laying "nest" and they are much easier to catch....never tried it, NEVER will..I will leave that to my red neck friends or Franco, Jacob, Dustin and all the other Louisiana swamp people....as blind as I am without glasses, I would probably stick my arm down the throat of a gator by mistake

There is an older gent around the Champaign, IL. area that noodles snappin' turtles. I have worked with him a few different times and he is quite the gent to converse with on all levels........lol. Amazingly enough he he still has all of his "digits".
