Did you get to do any freelancing? I think that was part of your original plan.
I've never tried seaducking, even thought I'm surrounded by it. I shoot wild game to eat it, and I've heard that's a challenge with divers. Do you find the birds suitable as table fare?
I want the hunt without the guilt - what do you do with the birds? We've all heard the famous bluebill recipe that involves stuffing the bird with cow manure, cooking at 350 for 30 minutes, then throwing the bird away and serving the manure..... What's the reality?
Broadbill in creole sauce served over rice-very good, eider prepared as "teriyaki duck" and sliced thin-good, bufflehead soaked in salt water and then marinated and prepared like broadbill-never again. It took me 5 days eating a little at a time and I couldn't eat more than half a duck.
I've never eaten scoter but there are people who like them. Give one a shot. After all, I tried a bufflehead.
Nice Job! Looks like a nice mixed bag of ducks!!! glad you had a good time !
