Ladies hair curlers in MY bathroon is a pet peeve of mine especially when she has HER own damn bathroom. ;)
I told this to a friend on the phone earlier this evening. His commnet, "about time the rest of the country caught up with Louisiana"! I said, 'what are you talking about"? His reply, "we've always had open carry when walking, but you have to keep the lid on it when driving"!
Buzz, I am of the belief that their is no approach that is going to appease the anti crowd. I hunted for years right outside of Brookings, no one thinks twice when someone walks through the lobby of a hotel with a shotgun or has one hanging in the window of a pick-up. I think in general people who see guns on a daily basis are more prone the realize they are not evil, even if those people are non hunters. It sounds like this is a "screw you" type of move, but really I don't see of it having a negative effect.
:-) I have a dear friend whoes parents were from LA. And although I have never spent any time in your state if you people are all like her you are a hoot ( as she puts it when talking about her family down there ). She lives in OK full time anymore. She keeps me laughing.
Good Post. Mostly what I think also.
We live where guns are a normal part of living. We still have to fight some of nature's critters to keep our animals alive.
About 5 miles from us is a casino. A man leaving there with ( I presume ) some money he had won was beaten to death just a few miles from the casino. Up the road about a quarter of a mile from us is a bar
where some things get rough at times ( no law for about 13 miles so people do what they please at times ).
We have had a drunk knock on our door late at night wanting someone to drive him to another location.
We have some rather strange people wandering around out here at times. We keep a loaded gun handy
and so do other people in this area. Just makes good sense to most of us around here. Someone dumped a dog out here who was acting strange and slobbering so I called the sheriff's office (since shooting animals seems to be a "no-no" according to the come lately people out here ). His answer to my problem.....he said "shoot it". His thinking has not been tainted by the late comers to this part of the country. Most people around here used to always carry a gun in their pick-up with them as they went about tending cattle or oil leases. And if anyone thinks that I will quit shooting those critters who have killed my chickens in the past they better think again.
If we sit back and calmly allow our beliefs to be slowly torn down we'll look around in 10 yrs and ask what happened, I remember when we could own guns. Just look at the removal of Christianity from our society. Do you really think a ban on semi auto assault weapons is all they want. Give an inch and they've taken the country.
The same group that wants to go after your gun rights is the same group that wants to put an end to hunting! Only ONE poilitcal party has taken a stand for gun rights!
