Probios works for me!! MUCH less gas...
Carol - Carol - Carol!! You BAD girl! :D
Try some yogurt. Really it helps! I think I got the idea from one of Doc's posts.
Jill gets that way every once in a while so I start both dogs (not the puppy yet) on a heaping tablespoon of yogurt. I like to add a couple tablespoons of water so it gets all over the food. Sometime if I forgt to add it to the food-- they just get to lick it off the spoon. They think it's a treat!! If I would just keep it up all the time Jill probably wouldn't have any problems.
Hey Melis! Remember when we came out to the ranch the first time? Hugh said something then about little stinky! I guess I'll have to start sharing my breakfast yogurt with him, he'll like that.
BTW, WHERE ARE SOME PICS OF THE NEW PUP?????
Don't feed your dog with a bowl, a flat biscuit pan will slow him way down on his eating. And whatever you do don't feed him Hormel Chili!
The fast eaters I get, get their food scattered on the kennel floor. Slows them down.:)
Now for the gas, is this your noisy/vocal dog? I've noticed that the noisy barkers tend to have more gas issues too. Started noticing it with my old yeller' boy' Kick,. He was always talking and was the gassiest dog . Then, his son, ..... then the grandaughter...... seeing a pattern here? I think the barking, they get a lot of air in as well and causes that problem.
Good luck to you.:)
Oh No! I can see another heritable problem to be tested and cleared for!!!! Ok Laura, does Wink fart a lot? Just kidding but I still don't think Chief can hold a candle to Potus Place. (don't try that Chief:cool:)
My three suck in the food also, no surprise they are labs after all. I did the yogurt thing too and it helps but I started feeding the coconut oil every one was raving about on here. Been about 6 weeks now and NO MORE HORRIBLE GAS!!!!

Hey Carol, I don't have a problem with any of my dogs. The food I feed is a chicken and rice with probiotics in it and none of the dogs have an issue. Every one of them sucks it down like they may not see tomorrow so I would try the yogurt rather than buy a special bowl. Coconut oil sounds like it would be good for the coat too.
