Here we go!
Well, I finally broke down and have a new pup on the way! I'm new at this so, I'm sure I won't do my new buddy justice. But, I am gonna give it my best shot. I'll probably be asking a lot of questions, so y'all bear with me! Hopefully all goes well, I have a good friend who's going to help me. So, stay tuned folks!

Congrats and welcome.
Be sure to pick up a Puppy Beginner DVD (Smartworks Puppy or Sound Beginnings)
so you know what NOT to do in the beginning. >

This way you can enjoy him just being a puppy and not worry with serious training until later on.
Also start laying out your goal for the pup. Obedient Companion? Duck Dog? Hunt Test?
This way you can figure out what training route to focus on as far as what type of program you'll need.

Welcome to the RTF. Not sure how far away you are but head on out to Cheraw SC next month. I think it's the 9th and 10th. If you are new it will be a good way to see what it's all about and meet some great people. There are several HT's or FT's there this spring. Let me know if you will make it and I'll be sure to look you up or give you info to find me.

Yeah, we are planning on coming up and hanging out. It's only about a 45 minute ride from me to Cheraw.
