Any thing that has 1 feature of an assault weapon would fall under the ban. If I read and interpreted it right the threads for choke tubes might even come under question as there would be the possibility of some one screwing in a flash or sound suppressor on.
I have say that I don't ink that he is all wrong. A nice, short barreled, extended magazine twelve gauge loaded with #4 buck is a pretty good solution in the close quarters one would be in during most home invasions. I have shot a shotgun hundreds of times more than a rifle and am very confident in my abilities to hit a moving target with one (not so much with a rifle), so, for me, if the argument is simply about what would I choose as a home defense weapon against burglars or home invaders (the most likely scenario), a shotgun would probably be my best choice.
I don't really think that the argument should be about home defense. It is about the 2nd amendment and our right as citizens to own virtually any firearm we want unless there is some really overriding reason why we shouldn't own them. It is my understanding that contrary to popular impression, if I had the money to pay the fees, and the money to purchase one, and didn't fail the extensive background check (and, I suppose, considering some of my recent posts on the second amendment, I might fail) it is perfectly legal for me to own a fully automatic weapon. I see no real justification for an "assault weapon ban". That is the issue.

Our legislation here is trying to ban concealed carry on college campus.
Some government agency, recommended what students could do if they were attacked.
here are a couple I can remember off the top of my head.
1 pretend you are sick, and force yourself to throw up.
2. if you cant run in shoes, take them off so you can run faster
3. proclaim you have a disease.
