.209 dia is the size of the o.d. of a standard large pistol and rifle primer. Back in the day when shot gun shell were made out of brass they didn't have the extra outside flange on the primer, which also make them .209 dia. Thats my theory. There are all lot of things in shooting world that doesn't make since.
Has anyone used these Cheditte primers? I just need them for the blank gun but I know my gun doesn't cycle right with some.

Chedittes typically work very good in a "primer pistol." They don't mushroom out the back jamming the revolver.

They're what I've been using, no problems whatsoever, so far.
I like Cheditte primers, I don't think their as hot as some of the rest. A lot easer on blank pistols. I get my from graff and sons ammo in missouri, but do have to pay haz mat charge.Quote:
