Showing up the judges.
Interesting. Up here it is pretty much the exact opposite. I don't want to think about how many birds my hunting partners and I would've lost over the years had we not had dogs that could get into...
Unless the cluster or area of cattails is the area of fall, in which you then know that if you can't see the dog, the only place they can be is in the area of fall.
Just guessing but you were probably the RD (commodore in charge so to speak) at at least a few of those unsafe and poorly designed tests. Odd that you wouldn't speak up for the benefit of your fellow...
If you think the judges are bad enough to warrant making your "list", why enter in the first place?
Had a handler do this maneuver recently in protest of another handler being dropped for talking to his dog after calling for the birds (bird #1 was flyer, handler blew duck call to start test, as...
Any judges here ever have a handler come up, watch the marks go down and then leash up their pooch and walk-off without picking up a bird (out of protest)?
Did the dog then pick up deliver the 3rd bird to hand? Hopefully the handler didn't bend down and pick the bird from the ground.
Sounds to me like your dog is enjoying and benefiting from your full attention to him. Could be a good lesson there for you.
Cane is a dark yellow male Labrador that is CNM and EIC Clear, OFA Good, weighs about 60 lbs and is an elite level hunting dog. He just turned 6 in January, has NAHRA MHR (currently has 10 passes...
I don't think that anyone will actually take ownership for being a poor ambassador. There are plenty out there but self-recognition and change are not their strong points. I think that everyone can...
When I've had litters I don't waste my time with "hagglers". Price is what it is, accept it or move on to the next litter. I'm not really interested in placing one of my pups into a home where that...
In my opinion, "epic" should be reserved for NFC (or NAFC) x FC AFC type of breedings or above. Examples: NFC Willie x FC AFC Kweezy, NAFC Maxx x NAFC Hattie, NFC Chopper x NFC Windy.
Epic is...
Kevin - If you can make it, I think you'd learn a lot and meet a bunch of folks at the handler's seminar that we're holding on 4 May. Most of the FPRC members are from the metro area and there are a...

Master is the only level effected by the increased yardage change to 150 yd max marks. Senior and Junior yardages will remain unchanged.
If you try it, it is highly likely that you, your family and your pooch, will thoroughly enjoy it. Have fun!

Running water or smaller ditches to cross combined with more-land-than-water marks. Cold water isn't as much of an issue in October as it is in early spring (when the dogs haven't been in it for an...
Agree 100%
Also, there is still another title that can be achieved for getting to 1,000 points (50 passes).
Can someone post the address of Rex's water (so I can see it on Google Earth), please?
Congrats to Doug Dodge on taking 1st (Abbie) and 2nd (Katie) in the Qual! Nice work team Okoboji!
John Ketzner is located in Clear Lake, WI (in Texas during the winter).
AKC hunt tests are like McDonald's hamburgers. Easy to find, available all over and you know what the taste is no matter which one you go (generally speaking). Nothing wrong with AKC or McDonald's....
