OB is done on lead and off.
Works on both!
I have been using the Seresto collars and it has worked very well for me.
Here is a link to a set for sale on another forum I visit.
We have found the new models don't seem to throw as far as the older units. It is my understanding this was by design for the new units. With that being said 20 yards is what we are getting out of...
Good suggestion. Most of us should go with out instinct more often.
Another good place to find refurbished collars is the Bargain Cave at Cabela's. Some will even have factory warranty with them.
I too agree the pricing seems difficult to get a grasp on. Especially when puppies of the same litter have different price tags.
A breeder I know made this assertion the other day. I found it interesting and even more so now that I know he isn't the only one who sees this.
Can't spend too much time as long as there are boundaries. Don't pick the pup up every time it whimpers and just be sure the pup is on your terms.
I also found Lean Mac and a few other hall of fame dogs not mentioned in this thread.
I know some of you guys who have been in this business a long time semi laugh at this thread. I can tell you that for somebody new it is a good way to learn about dogs. I spent yesterday looking up...
Lifetime Decoy Rigs. Check them out. You won't be disappointed. IMO they are the best.
Just thought I would provide a little update. We have been working water everyday since Monday and things have gone well. Basically I backed up, took a deep breath, and proceeded at a reasonably slow...
If it is between Rhome and Decatur then good luck. My buddy pumps those wells in there.
I appreciate all the advice and yes I am pushing a little right now. It is hard to back off when I have been waiting to hunt all year. I know it needs to be done though.
To be fair the high temp today was 68 degrees and the conditions I referenced when the problem surfaced were not normal for our area. We had ice for over a week straight and typically we may get one...
Today we worked from the waters edge. As we progress I will move further away from the water. That is what I meant by my statement.
Water temps aren't crazy cold like you guys up north have. I am in North Texas so the water is tolerable year round for the most part.
Well I took off work early and worked my dog. It went much better than anticipated. Stopped at the creek first and let him run some shallow knee deep water. Then moved to one of my shallow tanks. A...
I have talked to my trainer and we are trying to work through the issue. However I am all about collecting as much information as possible. I will look into and inquire about the swim-by.
Alright here is the deal guys. I have a 18 mo BLM who has been to the trainer. Came back doing great but overall the dog is a little sensitive to pressure.
I thought he was having a little...
I haven't used the Cabela's collar. However, in the Bargain Cave they usually have several reconditioned Tri-Tronics collars at really good prices. Mine came with a 1 year factory warranty as well....
