It always amazes me that any time MN is mentioned the same RTF MN haters start all their BS and the FT'rs jump in without a clue. If you think people run the MN just for a plate or a title you don't...
I don't have many pelts and hide behind a screen name but my opinion is.... the first thing I look for in a pup is a great bitch that I know personally.
"pay your dues"...does this have anything to do with how dogs are judged?
It is interesting to read replies stating the extra distance is no problem for their dog. I agree distance is not a big factor to the dogs. The change will be the additional factors that come into...
I think Bubba's answer was very clear, unless there was some other question or point to be made.
That's really big of you Tom to give up the tailgate. How about joining a club, working a HT and find out how much the club members work so you can sit in the gallery, go to the tailgate and bitch....
The collars are not DC with increasing voltage. They are pulsed AC with increasing number and width of pulses. Tried one on a storage scope, it was very interesting.
Melanie, you work so hard to make friends. I'll bet you have lots....if any.
Congratulations Chuck, Marje and Peanut... You have done a great job with him...thanks.
You need to go to a snake clinic and watch 90% of the dogs stick their nose into the snake to see what it is. They have no natural fear of snakes and most stick their nose in to a coiled up rattling...
Not at all what I said, just having a little fun with it....I've always thought it so hypocritical when I get quoted, For Hunters, by Hunters and a much higher percentage don't run their own dog.
...
Something to consider...over 70% of the dogs run in the HRC Grand are run by pro trainers. 49% of dogs run in the AKC Master National were run by pro trainers.
So....if "By Hunters, for Hunters"...
Yes, if you get it approved by AKC.
[QUOTE=MarkyMark;893540]There's not enough copper or nickle in today's lead shot to make it any harder. Lead shot has been refined to make it as hard as possible. I hear all this smoke em, out shoot...
We decided to never do another one....our experience was a bunch of inexperienced, unsafe, lousy shots that could afford to pay that much to shoot.
Many loaded guns pointing at the dog/handler...
I hate to upset Paul and get this back on track to the question asked but here is what I had from the meeting where Bill Teague gave the proposals at the MN. My notes are a little sketchy, not sure I...
From my notes on Bill's talk in Maryland the Master change was to have 2 triples minimum. I don't think that will change much at least here in Tx. 2 or 3 triples is pretty much standard.
It depends.......on the judges you get, just like weekend events.
Typically the MN will announce where/when the drawing will be for training grounds available for the week before the event. A booklet is put together describing the property and giving directions to...
When Bubba and Paul speak seriously as they did here ya'll should listen. All the 8 pt judges say no break. Those running "other venues" keep arguing or quoting regs from FT's or "other...
I agree I don't think it's anyone's business.
Good for the club hosting the event? I don't think many clubs/amatuers putting on trials are doing it to make money.
Makes me wonder if the ones...
Agree, it's usually not the tools fault.....
I couldn't find the study but here are the published results...never know what to believe on the internet but this study is quoted all over the net.
A Study on Prong Collars was done in Germany:...
IMO...There has been a lot of mis-information in many of the replies to you by many that have hever trained their own dog for HT's or FT's.
You have a 9 month old pup that you have just started...
