my patton pup is an on/off type. At 14 months he is the sweetest boy in the world in the house and when you grab the dummy bag he becomes super focused and ready to go. You can never throw him...
Are Sal Cursi's Hilltop Kennels or Tommy William's Triple-R Kennels still open? Both of those grounds used to be pretty nice
The term "national" refers to the scope of the competition and it is perfectly acceptable to refer to both open and amateur as nationals and both winners as national champions. Open or Amateur are...
Seems like the stats Richard has compiled is Pro handlers not trainers since Rex isn't in the list at all.
Ed did the list of nationals Rex trained dogs won, but I wonder how many of Rex's dogs...
:)
Hanging on every refresh!
it definately rings true to me too!
Kevin, where is your quote from?
Drive is the manifestation of Desire, and measured in Style.
Thank you judges who score Style, you are preserving Desire.
I thought someone mentioneed 81 was running well then poof gone after the blind? Must have had a horrible blind
81 '06 & '07 CNFC BIGGUNS BIG CHILL, LF Kippy Stroud Bill Sargenti
even objective commentary like how many whistles would be nice :)
here is some more info from WRC
To get you all up to date on where we stand as of this morning, here’s how the competition is stacking up:
#2 Boone - Handled on the center bird in the 3rd...
here is the original post:
Two times I have seen dogs chasing deer almost to the point of exhaution in northern Minnesota - once the deer ran right through my boat when I was duck hunting...
There used to be a picture in Rex Carr's bathroom in a similar vein - I would LOVE to have a digital copy of that picture. It was Rex in his prime. The only other copy I ever saw was sent and...
So if a dog skirts the point (water over land) you have to handle them back onto the point or they get dropped? Sounds like a gimmick. In the words of Shrek... I think he's compensatin'
I don't understand the sceario or what the judges are asking of the handlers.
I would ding the dog for control on the way to the line - how much depends on how bad it was.
I would judge the dog appropriatly to his performance and ignore the breaking of the gun. If the dog followed the gunner and that constituted a switch it would be judged as such. If the dog...
if marks haven't been called for yet and the honoring dog is only vocalizing and not breaking or out of control aside from barking, I would proceed to run the test and judge both dogs appropriately....
This seals it for me - scrap the test. To do otherwise you run the risk of running the equivalent of 3 different binds since you will have to come back in the morning and run the last 7 or 8 dogs.
I am noticing that topics I read have not been getting marked read in Events and some of the classifieds sections. Opening from the main heading and reading then refreshing or leaving the section and...
I haven't judged a licensed trial but my approach has always been both. Certain pre-established standards such as cheating, popping, breaking, whistle refusal, cast refusal, switching, etc. are...
I would say both dogs are dropped. Until the number is given I would consider both dogs are "honoring" the other.
I put in an 8.5' by 12.5' pad in 1992 using fiber additives. I just pulled up the sod and put in a border of 2x4s and had them pour into that (fairly sandy soil). When I left in 2005 it was still...
The pressure of correction must exceed the pressure of cause.
You need to take off the gloves and make this dog behave in all cases no matter how hard you have to pressure him. You didn't get to...
LOL! I have had several puppies over the years, this is the first one who's stools "rattle & tink" when I scoop them into the shovel ;-)
