The easiest way it's been explained to me is that young dogs don't run "lines", they run "corridors".
Exactly. And if they do tell me otherwise, then our scratch policy will change at that time. Better to ask forgiveness than permission in this case I figure.
Merry Christmas Ed!
When I send my monies and report to the AKC, I only send a check for dogs entered minus scratches. I've never had AKC come back to me on this.
Thanks everyone. I made our first appointment. Would love to say I was coming from Alberta, but I haven't lived there in 6 or so years. It's still home in my heart though.
Looking for a great vet in Corning.
We are bringing a non competing dog to the National that requires some follow up care while we are there. One appointment, maybe two or three.
Hey! Now THAT is a plate!
My favorite saying is "a tired puppy is a good puppy".
No naps after supper time. No water after 7 or 8 pm. Walks, playing and fun should happen so she is zonked by the time you take her to bed. ...
It's on the north side of Melvern Lake. Signs start at intersection of 75 and county rd 278.

It's very common. I call it the "alligator".
Keep you hand under the flat collar when you're pinching and keep him upright...
Tom Hartl has been replaced in the Open by Mike Loggins.
What Nancy says Greg. Girls with inverted vulvas can struggle with this until their first heat, when most "pop" out. Cranberry tab a day.
Dee, Pacer was an honor to spend time around. A stoic and noble dog. Your relationship with him was an honor to watch. My sincere condolences. Rest easy, sweet Pace.
I'm right now raising my 17th puppy for Field Trials in the past 7 years. I've used treats on all of them. Yes, they spit it out early, but I couldn't care less. My focus right now is to teach them...
Yesterday was a very sad day.
Loki was euthanized with Kenny and I by her side. She deserved more time in her new life, but it was not to be. Her kidneys were in Stage 4 failure and she was...
Not a good update.
I took Loki to the vet yesterday and she has lost 10 pounds since this has started. We had bloodwork drawn and sent to a lab for a more thorough work up than in-house could...
Loki came into the kitchen at feeding time tonight...first time in awhile. I took this as a great sign and she ate up almost 2 cans of the wet food (the expensive kind nonetheless) before she walked...
Thank you...I saw that at the store as well.
I will have the vet do that tomorrow. Thank you Nancy.
This is such an incredibly sweet dog and her behaviour tells me she had a rough go at life before now.
Here is where I am at:
-softened kibble - no way
-kibble soaked in chicken broth with added expensive canned food - no way
-just expensive canned food - no way
Thank you everyone!
I will try chicken broth tonight and will go from there.
Your advice is appreciated!
Thank you for the suggestions everyone. I am very grateful!!
Thank you for that!
The Foster Coordinator emailed me back and suggested Chicken Broth as well. I will buy some in the morning...
