Very sorry for your loss.
I looked at our entries. This is great! We have two pointing dogs entered! Last year a Spinone qualified at one of our hunting tests.
Once again, Kathy with her golden arm will be throwing birds....
Update: Several Boykins and a NSDTR are entered in our events. I love the variety that we get!
Edit: Make that two tollers.
Fairly good weather today. I can feel it, we will have great weather for our hunt tests.
PM sent, make some space in your message box.
Very funny!
Reminder that this is a new date for us. Don't miss us. I am hoping to see many familiar faces.
Come earlier in the week and I will show you some wicked night fishing for largemouths!
Now there's room.
Long Island Golden Retriever Club Spring Hunting Tests will be held on June 21, 22, and 23 at Otis Pike Preserve in Manorville, Long Island, NY.
MH on Friday, JH and SH on Saturday and JH and SH...
Ken, you are right. Good philosophy, don't run the dog in Junior until very well prepared.
And I like the story.
Look at Miss Molly Minivan. She often puts the old choke chain collar on backwards. And her husband is no better.
Used properly it is safer and far more effective than the chain choker. I also liked the snap around nylon choker but the pinch collar worked where the nylon choker failed.
I have the problems and solutions DVD. I like it a lot.
I have seen some dogs sort of push a duck into shore with an open mouth rather than take a good hold of it. I would think this could lead to what you are seeing. Take a close look. If that's the...
JusticeDog has it right. He is a baby.
Acme thunderer
Yes. Blind retrieves have been taught.
I do have a question on this issue. A person has a dog that loves to retrieve, all the dog wants to do is run. The dog is highly driven. The dog is happy when it is running, the more the better. Now...
A bamboo shinai. Makes a great sound as it smacks the target.
Nice post, Jennifer.
My vocabulary with the dog includes "yes" as well as "wrong". When I get a no-go, I say "wrong", take a step forward, heeling the dog, resend, and when the dog starts to go, I give a "yes". I have...
I guess I would not make a good judge. If I were judging, I would make the following comments to myself: 1) Why did I leave birds out to tempt a returning dog? My fault. 2) Boy, I am impressed by a...
I thought maybe you ran on Long Island. I was there and would have made an effort to see your dog run.
Congratulations!
Where did you run your dog?
I am not an HRC judge. That being said, how can anyone say that this is the same thing as a switch in the field out in front of you? I agree with Margo Ellis.
I should add that I saw an HRC test...
