Yes, that has been my experience with the bullsnakes in Colorado. We both run (slither) for our lives.
That's what the majority has told me Ed. Glad to hear you confirm it. I'm pretty naive about snakes. I see one, I scream, I run.
I didn't see the snake, but almost everyone says Cottonmouth...some say Copperhead.
Poor dog really went through the ringer.
HPL...a dog we train that's an FC/2014 National Finalist was bitten by a snake while airing in December in Louisiana. She was bitten on the foot and it was all we could do to save her foot/pad. ...

That's what we were wondering after the fact Ed. He was swimming madly at a dog in the pond though, and we were a little nervous it could have been something else.
What kind of snake is this?
About 6 feet long...shot in water in south Texas.
Maybe a water snake, but we weren't sure and erred on the side of caution.
