When you get the pup back to you,let him hold it and praise him,then take it,don't be in a rush to take it from him.

Coming here is a good start,you should find a local club,get help from someone nearby.
just bring in your servo to the hobby shop,they'll match them
the hobby shop servos plug right in,just have to use the steel arm from the BB servo,I am gradually upgrading mine with better more powerful,and waterproof servos.
The pro or field models are much easier to use,your fingers just sit on the button,the smaller units you're constantly fumbling with,especially if you hang them on a lanyard around your neck.
I've had a couple dogs that did/do that,gulping food down too fast,then vomiting,using hot water with the food can slow them down,and there are food dishes designed to slow them down.
