Happy Birthday!
Had both, sold the Mini-Z. I thought the ZWII throws were much more visible at typical training distances.
(insert inappropriate "package" joke here). :)
When I was totally "non-collar" for a dog taught to run blinds, the answer was: Step forward, command "heel" (or here) to get the dog moving, then "BACK." If that did not work (seldom) then: Heel,...
I shot sporting clays several times with Tom. He was a great shot, and a fine fellow.
Thad Simmons is excellent and close, as is Charlie Moody and Ronnie Lee. Charlie and Ronnie are in NE (to me) Mississippi. Thad in central Alabama.
I have seen a guy scream "Bitch in heat" when his dog was freaking out at the line running dog #5. Problem was, the set up and test dogs, plus dogs 1-4 were all intact males..... Sometimes you just...
I could have sworn Jerry Mann said at the Advanced Judges and Handlers seminar down here last year that someone with 6 master points could judge with a zero point judge at any level. I could be very...
OK, lets play with the golf analogy. If I can measure the success of the training, by watching Tiger, O'Hair and others win majors, then he is worth listening to on the swing. If not, not so much. ...
Um....it matters quite a jot to a lot of folks. The question is does what HE does, produce champions at HIS game, with HIM driving. Can he play golf, or is the "guru" just a driving range pro? The...
So, where is that list of the FTCH dogs this "guru" fellow made in the UK? Titles is titles, as they say. Very curious as to how many titles it takes to be a "guru."
I am a big fan of the Sportstand. I would not own another Ruff Stand. Have not tried a Dri Stand.
No offense, but based on your lack of knowledge of the regs and reasoning skills demonstrated in this thread, I hope you neither think nor deal with the public for a living.
Enjoy your stamp...
All the time.
Hatchie Bottoms are very close to the Marthons I have owned, and are a good deal. Either one will do a fine job for you.
I have only seen about 4 junior tests where there was NOT a flyer. YMMV.
Great pictures! Bonus points for the old school camo shirt! :D
Lonnie also pointed out this alternative when he ran this weekend:

Dude totally OWNED the tailgate raffle. Totally.
I can speak only for myself as an HRC judge, but it its pouring down rain, and you have a rainsuit you are not wearing, your nuts. However, your camo makeup better be waterproof and not running like...
If there is public "green timber" in Mississippi, other than one green tree unit chock full o' college kids at O'Keefe, I don't know about it. YMMV.
Then it was good experience to prepare you to run the Grand! :D
Yes, I personally expect "effort" to stay on line over the log, over the point, you name it. But, I can't demand "perfection" and drop someone just for missing the point, log etc. With every HT...
Bobby:
Run right at the stick, make steady progress to the stick, but I can't drop you just for missing hopping over that log at 100 yards. I don't expect "perfection" holding the line, but I...
Oh, do I remember it well.....
