Congratulations to Dennis Pugh and his derby dog, The Duck Commander (FC/AFC Trumarc's Hollandaise X Sonshine's Dottie West) on his second win at his second trial.
I bought little mounting brackets. I forget where. Plus, my SoG had mounting holes, but you had to let the screws almost all the way out, so I got brackets.
I use Brown in my BB 4-shooters. Plenty of distance and doesn't beat it up so much. I worked down Yellow, Green, Brown and stuck with the low end for the last few years. (Over 1k/yr.)
I have 3 old Sure Flyte box launchers (now discontinued) - similar POWER to the new ones by GU & Z. I use them for marks, but you have to be a little creative. Put the box on a hill propped up on...
A heavy, properly fitted, gas operated gun like Remington 11-87 (or one of the Barettas) with 2&3/4 1200 fps Hevishot. Low recoil and still lethal at the duck.
I like 12 ga Hevishot 2&3/4 #6, modest recoil in my 6lb pheasant gun, good pattern with IC, plenty of down-range energy. But the price has gotten horrible.
Lots of areas are non-toxic, so I...
Good on ya!
Thanks for the Lepto reply, Ed.
In old dogs this fear can become quite bad and I had one that was un-consolable. The best thing was to lock her in her crate in the laundry room so she didn't destroy doors and the like. I think...
This depends greatly on WHERE you live. In low risk areas, no vaccination may be the best option - not unlike Lepto vaccination.
I have 2 side-by-side in a Sequoia. I ordered my Ruff Tuffs without holes, because I didn't want water from wet dogs in my SUV. I was lucky to have a friend lend me the drill bit. I drilled 3...
I used Ft. Dodge until Recombitec (sp?) came out with a somewhat better record. (The two over a decade on many dogs. I don't know the science on the currently available ones, just use what my vet...
Not very common, but we lost a beautiful litter to it once and it's a horrible way for the pups to go.
Mason X3. I bought mine used 24 years ago. Almost as good as new (some rust from dogs that run & bounce) and over 30.
Iowa has come up a little, but from an all-time low.
Our county shows up as "good" - but it's a new definition of good. Where I...
Ken, You don't expect me to believe that MSBD's would shy away from something Labs would roll in!
That smell may be meat that has already been digested ;-)
(But to each his own.)
I don't use them often, but I have Lewis rubber dog boots. Wrap the dog's leg with athletic pre-wrap, then tape them on with adhesive (of duct) tape.
Years ago my mother-in-law and I spent a day...
But if your dog doesn't hunt in similar settings, be prepared for major embarrassment... HT/FT training is great preparation to develop a trained hunting dog, but a dog has to learn on the job.
Wow, that's the ticket, Ticket.
I thought they got put out of business by a lawsuit... ??? Isn't that what was posted here?
John Pease, Bubba's owner had a Bubba litter earlier this year. Get ahold of John and see if he plans more.
Check out the reviews in some of the on-line catalogs. Cabela's collars didn't do so well on theirs, but had few reviews. Dogtra 1900 on sale did well. Delta Sport not so well.
