I use the screws but loosen them a bit to install, when finished I hand tighten so the screws don't come out.

have one called primos wind checker. It is pretty nice becuase you can save locations and pull them up from your phone to see wind direction across the layouts. Got it for planning deer stand...
She loves dogs just doesn't think we need 2 big dogs that shed. But she also can't resist a cute puppy! She spoils my current one to death.
Definately leaning towards pulling the trigger and it is definately an addiction. When I got my current dog I just wanted to have a good hunting dog, but ran some JH tests got the title and now want...
I currently have a 3 1/2 year old YLM, he might not ever make it to the Finished/Master level but is a solid gun dog and I love hunting with him. My original thinking was when he was around 6-8 years...
I had one for a couple years and really liked it other than being pretty heavy. I could load/unload in a pick up by myself but it was not fun after a day in the marsh. My buddies still have a couple...
Should I continue to work the T and just use force as needed mixed with attrition or go back and visit FTP? He runs good lines once he knows the pile is there, it is just the first one or two "cold"...
Thanks Howard. Regarding the side piles, they are 20 yds off the baseline. If I am 10 yds or less from in front of the dog he takes a good cast on the over, as I move back he starts coming in instead...
Running into some issues on T/TT work and wanted to get some advise before I regroup and start over. I thought FTP went well and he was lining solid to the pile from 45-50 yds. As long as the pile...
Another one that is not in the KC area but well worth it is Brad's Birds in IL. All he does is birds and is well worth it. He is just across the river from St. Louis.
One thing that helped me and my pup was to start with short lines (10yds) and gradually move back. Lots of praise and very little (if any) pressure while getting him to identify the pile. Once I had...
I use a decoy sled from
cabelas. Works on land or in water.
Just a quick update on tonight's session. Very good session, kept all the commands upbeat and started about 10yds away. He showed very good response no pressure tonight. We ran two sets with about...
Thanks for all the advice. I will take it slow and work on IDing the pile with no pressure to try and get more enthusiam before going to force.
I do worry about the weather as I am in MO and it...
I think confusion/uncertainty is a lot if it. When he sees one tossed he spins out and drives back. I am thinking I will work on sending to pile for another few sessions to build confidence before...
Combination of many things, mostly my schedule got slammed last year and then winter was terrible. Finally got back to training this spring and revisited a lot and took it slow up to this point,...
[QUOTE=Alec Sparks;818074]Is he slower now that you're forcing him/QUOTE]
he is running about the same, when I burn he kicks it up some. I didn't expect marking speed, he just seems more...
I ran him to the pile for about 4 days before introducing any force (which I just started this morning). He never drove to the pile probably about 3/4 or 1/2 speed.
Working FTP following Lardy. My pup did real well on 3 hand casting with bumpers 15-20 feet away. As we transition to FTP he is very slow on back even with force. The pile is identified first and...
Thanks I forgot to double check the book.
How far back do most folks go on FTP? in the intro to FTP on the Lardy videos they mention 40-50 feet but should that be yds, as it appears he is further than 15 yds while doing work. I understand...
i got this in an email today from a buddy regarding the ND flooding.
Officials say Souris River flooding in Minot will dwarf the historic flood of 1969. The river that year reached 1,555.4 feet...
Since posting I have been on the phone a couple times with different Dogtra representatives and we have had very good discussions about the issues regarding my units. After these discussions Dogtra...
Yea wish I had gone TT now, bought a used winger with dogtra so stuck with dogtra on second receiver.
Just venting a little about dogtra's customer service. I have 2 deluxe rr receivers, one of which is less than 30 days old. Well last week I got caught in a thunderstorm during training and by time I...
