thats what i would do build up confidence. maybe start about 150-200 yards away from pile and when is running hard all the way move back till you reach whatever length you want.

I dont have a lot of experience but i would stop running alot of cold blinds and start running alot more pattern blind over 200 yards and keep any cold blinds short. Sounds like confidence to me.
