I have one out of a Grady female that is 8 mos old and has been with a pro for 2 mos. Early returns are pretty good. She likes to work - loves to retrieve. A little soft, but smart enough to pick up...
Those 2 are very efficient with their time. Many days, their trial dogs can see between 2-4 setups. Generally, they can use all or part of the trial dog setup for the gun dogs as well. They just...
x2 - Joe and Scott are good new handler trainers as well. It only hurt for a minute and I only have a few scars.
Any updates on the Open? Thanks,
Couldn't have happened to a couple of nicer guys! Congrats Rodney and Jimmy!
See there, they're running where they think it should be - not where it went. They gotta learn to run to the bird.
You have got to slow down! Blow the whistle, let the dog sit, and then count to...
I also heard that Joe Harp won the derby with Ziggy! Congrats to Tim and Shannon Thurby, and Twin Oak Kennels on Ziggy making the derby list with 2 wins in the last 3 trials.

Correct, and every dog reacts differently to each of these stimuli. That's what makes those who can 'read' dogs generally better trainers than the rest of us.
That will come with experience. He'll soon figure out where the birds come from and before long, you'll be able to tell that birds are working based on his response. I've killed a number of ducks...
What she said x2!
Both of Dan's dogs ran a good trial. One more bird and they'd have been in the mix. It was a pleasure to watch them run this weekend.
That's one way to do a diversion...
We got Rex due to a buyer back out at the last minute. He was the last male pick. He was QAA by 2 1/2 and is currently running AA stakes.
That was very cool!
I don't think many (if any) mainstream training programs used to train the vast majority of gun dogs, HT dogs, and FT dogs train for these items either. These are on-the-job training items that the...
Setup as relayed to me: Tight quad with two middle guns retired short of flyer w/ and out of order flyer.
I wish we could file a counter complaint against these people for wasting oxygen and taxpayer money...just stupid.
Any information on the set up for the Open?
