Seems like there is more than one way to skin a cat. There are very few absolutes, and it ALWAYS comes down to reading the dog and being responsive.
Not stating that anyone is wrong, but 30 or forty sends on ftp seems like it would create attitude risks. I have done it with as few as 6 or 8 sends, involving only 2 nicks, a couple times a day...
