Long Island trial 5/15, open 83 dogs 60 pro handlers , at least another 5 that are trained by or train with pro's daily. Anoyher 5 or so that have had pro training at some point .

Just look at any open stake , see how many dogs are entered and how many are run by pros . Ought to get you close .

What do you all feel about a strait up triple with none retired or a double with one retired as a derby test , when needed for the judges to get real seperation from the 5 or 6 dogs in a derby that...

I think as most seem to that in the derby marking should be of primary importance ! The rule book says it and so do most good judges , trainers ,and handlers . That being said it seems to be getting...

Fuel filters should be changed at no more than 15,000 miles , according to the book ! You should only use ford or international fuel filters ,as they are the only ones with the water seprater...

What a race ! I have family in the thoroughbred business in Kentucky and am usually pretty up on the horses in the derby , but not this year . I am pretty sure the big money people in that sport...

You could nail some 1x6 or 1x8 as risers so the stairs aren't see through . If that doesn't work you could call the nearest ft or hunt test and have them bring over one of the bitches in heat to lure...

One good thing about the AKC field trial judges test is it makes you read the rule book ! I know plenty of judges that haven't read the book in far to long !!!!!

I've noticed this also . If I take to long to type in a post it will tell me I am anauthorized to do whatever . If i type faster it posts no problem .

Brett, you might want to discuss this with your pro.I doubt that the pro would place higher than you just because of being a pro ,they would place higher as a better handler only.

Good thread ! Before I ran my first derby , I asked a few very good ameater trainers , how do you know when you're ready to run a derby ?They both said the same thing; when you can reliaby do 2 down...
