    On avg my sessions are 9 minutes each. Each day is a slight backup, make slight progress, then slight backup to end positive. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

    This is common. The whole process is no fun for the dog or the trainer. Assuming you release the pressure as soon as the dowel is in his mouth, he has learned how to relieve the pressure. FF is working.
    I agree 100% that this is no fun for either of us! I feel the FF is working as he does a great job of lunging to grab the dowel I just forget how long of a process this was, I looked at my previous notes from my last pup and see that it took me 6 weeks before I was moving on... now that was my first dog with this but am on week 2 now and the first week was mainly hold with no pressure
