Default Waterfowl guide in Canada ??????

Anyone here that guides? Typically what does the outfitter pay the guide ?(ball park) Guide being responsible for setting decoys, calling birds, and his dog picking up birds. Outfitter does the scouting.

I have been ask to take my dogs to Saskatchewan as a guide. They ask me how much I would charge? I haven't a clue.

We paid a guide last year 150 a day per person. He scouted, secured fields, and provided decoys. He did not stay in field with us, and we had to clean our own birds. He did provide us with a place to clean the birds. I think normally he charges even more then that (over $200) for people he had to set everything up and then clean birds.

Find out if you gotta clean the birds. That's huge as far as what you should charge.

Also, as a licensed paid guide in Sask. it was illegal for him to shoot birds with us anyways.. Something you should know

My experience is that you don't need a dog much is Saskatawan or Manitoba. Mostly or all field shooting and the birds to pick up or rather close- guides scout, find it in the dark, you help with a bizillion decoys and pick up about 830
Most places have someone that cleans for a charge
