My SH CBR loves it! He's an elite jumper, invited to the worlds last yr. His personal best is 23'11. We do it strictly for fun, a few times a year. His big thrill is the crowd- loves to have people cheer for him. However, he's going to be 9 yrs in a couple weeks, and his jumps are getting shorter and he's slowing down a bit.KiowapuyallupDD.jpg
I've done it with my CL he loves it. His best jump was 17'7". I saw a lab two summers ago come off shoulder surgery and jump 28'+. It was incredible. As far as training goes it shouldn't mess up your dog. I consider it like giving your dog fun bumpers into a pool.

My boy loves it, too. Hasn't interfered with his line manners, breaking, or being steady to flush. We've met some awesome people doing it, too.
A quick story...at a dock diving event, I accidentally threw the bumper past the end of the pool into the bleachers. My boy did a great jump, swam to the end, and tried to climb out of the pool to get the bumper. Luckily someone grabbed it and tossed it into the pool for him.
As he and I were walking back to the crating area, someone said to me with a grin, "force fetched?????"

I enjoy it. It's something to do in the middle of the summer when it is really hot. My favorite dog is an English Bull dog named Percilla that jumps around 9.5'. She needs a life jacket, or the dog will sink.

Mine love it, only I could never get them to go out, and not just up, so we do the vertical instead. Dock diver people are a bit of a strange set I don't think I could do it all the time, but when the docks up we will stop by. The dogs know the difference so don't worry about that .
