    Default Boykin's first quail hunt

Since duck season's over I took my 11yo son and our 1yo Boykin (Chief's Santee Super Cub - aka "Piper") on their first quail hunt yesterday. We had a great time and I'm super proud of my little man for his safe gun handling, shooting skill (he shot 8), and the great dog work from Piper. She was steady during duck season, but this was her first exposure to upland and I've obviously got to work on steady to flush. I couldn't be prouder of how both son and dog are progressing.

Looks like they both had a great time. I wished we had quail around here. Looks like a lot of fun, & I know my Boykin would love it.

We were up at a friends farm just outside of Carnesville, GA (85N roughly 40 minutes north of Lawrenceville).
