    My penny worth.

Edit to post. Hopefully your pup has been introduced already to fresh killed birds and feathers. Feathers are real bad on doves.

Yep, he is coocoo for birds lol. I bring him a bird or two back from all the dove hunts I have had earlier this season to do a few retrieves with.

As far as obedience, sit/stay and down/lay are really goood. So is come.

Heck sometimes I forget that he knows sit so well and I will be in the house or yard and tell him to sit because he is getting in my way... then I forget to release him and he will be sitting there as I walk awayat which point I remember, and call him lol.

Alright, I took him out with me this weekend.

    The hunting was SLOW!

Only two guns (me and another guy).

The pup only marked a couple of the birds, the others I dont think he ever saw fall.

But we went on a walk for a "dead bird" after about the 3rd time I said that and he found a bird he started to get the picture.

After he found it, I called him and he came right to me and delivered to hand.

It was a great experience for him. He probably brought me 10-12 birds this weekend.

Cool. Sounds like both you and your dog had fun!!.
"Blastem Daddy!" My Son's advice to me as a big ole Tom turkey came strutting within range. My son was 6 at the time.
