    Default Debbie Musgrove -August 18, 1959 - September 28, 2013

Many of us "old timers" will remember running AKC Hunt Tests on the east coast with Debbie Musgrove. Debbie started out many, many years ago running her first yellow Labrador Retriever, Chester. She trained with the help of Woody Thurman @ Twin Lakes Kennel. Debbie was successful in training Chester to a Master Hunter title and his UD title in Obedience. She also trained her next yellow Lab, K. C. to a Master Hunter title and a CD title in Obedience.

One of the remarkable things about Debbie was that she did all of this training without a voice. Debbie used a large bicycle horn instead of a whistle! Debbie was also a very active member of the old Back Bay Retriever as well as Tidewater Retriever Club. Debbie was also a proficient AKC Judge for Retriever Hunt Tests.

Debbie will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her good friends, Bernadette Brown and Linda Downey.

Rest in peace, Deb. I'm sure Chester and K.C. were waiting for you at the Bridge.

I didn't see this... It hurts when dog people leave. Big time thoughts that way....

How I remember Deb and her dogs. The things she could do with them that people with voices had difficulty. I also remember the stern words whispered when I called her Debbie. She stated she was not a Debbie, Debra or Deb but not a Debbie. I then referred to her as the mad scientist - We had fun judging together. Rest in peace Deb.

I remember Deb well and was impressed her her ability to overcome the large obstacles in her life. I'm sorry to learn she is gone.
