To anyone thinking of running a UK-style event...I can tell you that they're a blast and a great opportunity to enjoy another type of game.

You dog will see about 50 plus flyers shot in a half-day. And get to actually pick a few of 'em up!

It's been discussed...let's put it that way! A friend and I had one scheduled near Peoria two years ago and had to cancel due to lack of entries. Like our other games, entries are key to making this happen. I can come up with the property, judges and birds...but need solid commitments on entries.

Sounds like tons of fun, but I would think a training day might be a better idea at this point, since it's so new?
Peoria is very do-able for me, and possibly some friends of mine.

The Peoria location was through a hunting club, and I don't know if that offer is still on the table. My cohort had made those arrangements, so I can't speak for him at this time. I have plenty of training ground here in the far Southern end of the state that would work just fine. I've also got a reliable source for pigeons, which helps defer the cost a great deal instead of using ducks or pheasants. I can call in a few favors for judges...just need commitments for entries.

Regarding a training day for such an event, that is fairly easy to arrange. The biggest issue is always working around trials and hunt tests, and again...the commitment from participants. If there were enough serious interest, I would consider sponsoring an event.

Wanted to check out a trial. According to the website there hasn't been a field trial since last November. Looks this venue is on life support.
