    get a full thyroid panel done. Sounds more like low thyrois than anything else.

    Like said above carriers dont have the disease they simply carry it. I have a 4 year old chessie bitch thats affected, has her HRCH and has never shown a symptom. Sounds like your issue may lie elsewhere. What kind of physical condition is the dog in?

    Exactly, good advice right there. My dog got up to 90lbs even though he didn't look over weight to me. I was even able to still feel ribs. I switched his food to a grain free high protein kibble feeding it twice a day in small protions and made sure he was thoroughly excercised everyday. Got him down to 80lbs, totally different dog now with high energy.
