I am sorry, I didn't mean to be offensive and I was. Same to you Gerry, I really didn't mean the tone of my earlier posts. I really like hearing other peoples point of view and try to respect them.
I do believe that there is nothing good that will come from the shutdown, but I don't think it will implode either. Rock the economy and dip us into recession again maybe, but we will survive. No doubt.
I think that the debt ceiling fight is all tied into this also and I do believe that using this same kind of politics with that would be permanently disruptive to our economy and our standing in the world. I do believe they will use it also. I am much less sure that the economy would survive that intact.
I appreciate that the tea party does not want the law in place. I would have preferred that they had taken control of the legislative branch and forced the law out rather than shut down the country. Obama won the election on this platform also, so I guess no one can blame him for not budging an inch on it.
During break time at obedience school, two dogs were talking.
One said to the other..."The thing I hate about obedience school is you learn ALL this stuff you will never use in the real world."

Wow, lots of stuff in these posts....I am a Tea-Party guy! In fact John Birch may be related to me...and we did elect true Conservatives into Congress to stop Obama, Reid, and the current Liberals by any means available. I write letters weekly to our Congress representatives and will support those I agree with financially and with my own time. I believe that over the last 50-60 years we have been moving towards Socialism and Obama and the current administration are just the first Democratic leaders that openly talk and act our this "redistribution of wealth". So that brought us to a crossroads where voters have to choose, continue as a Republic, Free Market or move into Marxist/ Socialism. My primary concern is that many voters do not understand or have the education to make informed decisions, that was planned by the Dem's and NEA years ago. Teach no Civics, limit American History knowledge, and never teach Econmics in high school....So the war has begun, and this is only one battle.
