    Default Radio

Club needs new radios. Need some help on radios. Has any one used the motorola mh230tpr or ms350r? Do you like them?
Need something in a bright color so you can find them easy when you drop one.
What kind of radio do you like?

We have the $80 or so a pair "yellow" waterproof motorolas, and a few of the same model in the "non waterproof" black color. They work fine for us. Be sure you get a version that allows a lanyard. Makes them easy to hang on a blind and less likely to go "poof."

"yellow" waterproof motorolas - that'd be my choice as well.

I have the Midland GXT895VP4 Radio Pack. I really like them. Our club have them as well and got a quantity at a substantial discount. To solve the issue of the radios being hard to see I put colored duct tape around the antenna. I put girly duct tape on mine so that they are easily identified since there are quite a few of us that have the same radios.

An often discussed topic, Motorola sound quality is generally poor (important for guys over 50). Midland GTX is a much better 2 way. Use the search function and find numerous discussions.

You really gotta be careful about how high a pedestal you put your method, your accomplishments, your dog on. There's usually someone who's done more, somewhere. And they may have used a different method than you did! Chris Atkinson 2013
