Sure hope hunting dog remembers hunt test dog!
Im confident he'll do good, but if we blow it, we'll still be in the blind Monday morning!

The dog will do what he has been "trained" to do. Its up to you, you're driving! See you Saturday morning.

I took one to a SH test 4 days after getting home from ND and couldn't keep her from trying to go to the decoys on a blind that was ran about 30 yrds to the left of about 15 goose decoys. She had just picked up about 50 birds right in the decoys that week before. She just knew the bird was in the decoys. After 3 left backs it was NO HERE!

We have been "practicing" this weekend at the American Chesapeake Club's working test... heading to NM next weekend too. See you there!

No staying up there this go around. Already winterized the 5th wheel.
Between work, home projects, and hunting, "training" hasn't happened.
Retrieving birds have been pretty simple marks so far, so not much for any blind retrieves.
Did have one go down somewhere in the willows, but thought it splashed down. Looked like it was hung in some wood down stream, sent him, took whistle commands, but it turned out not to be the duck. Coming back up the shore he kept smelling, nose up.
    Hmmm, he smells something?
    Hunt em up buddy, back....
He disappears. Can see the willows moving, 30 yards so back in there they stop and can watch a beeline on movement come back.
    Viola, here it is dad!
    He brought back a cripple.
    He's got a neck of a nose.
I just gotta remember to use control, instead of getting him close, and letting him use his nose to find the bird.

    Guess we'll see.

    See you all there.
