In 2010, the inspector general reviewed tax records for 135 IRS contractors with contracts of $250,000 or more. At the time, investigators found 20 contractors that owed a total of $5.2 million in delinquent taxes.
Among direct IRS employees the delinquency rate is only 1.1% because they can actually fire somebody from the IRS for not being current with their taxes ... not so with other Federal agencies. Guess that's how Geithner got away with it for so long.
