Default Atlantic flyway. Are you seeing birds?

I've been gunning coastal NJ for 25 years or so and have never seen so few birds for this time of year. Gunned the south zone last week with some old timers who have gunned the same area on the Wading river and they have never seen it this bad in 50 years. I'm interested in how the north zone fared and also what others are seeing on the eastern seaboard.

Above temps in northern NY and Canada are predicted this month will not make it better.

The Atlantic Flyway is the 'red-headed stepchild' to DU and Delta. Less resources allocated means fewer ducks. It's no coincidence all the TV shows and videos showing fantastic duck hunting are shot in the Missisipi and Central flyways. That, my friends, is where the money flows freely. We get the scraps......-Paul

Too quiet up here! Last weekend on the second opener the cold front moved some new birds into the eastern shore area of Lake Ontario finally giving us a good day. But by Sunday it slowed back down. This is feeling like 2011 which was a challenge due to the above normal warm temps.

We were in Northern Zone of New York along the St. Lawerence River doing a little deer hunting last week. TONS of geese on the move. I don't think there was 5 minutes of quiet time during daylight when you couldn't here large flocks of geese flying. Haven't been out duck hunting in about ten days. Last duck hunt though , we did see some big, well plumed green heads that didn't appear to be locals

    Good hunting.
