    Default Diabetic Service Dogs

Does anyone know of a place or trainer in MI, OH, IL or IN that has any Diabetic Service Dogs. I have a friend who's little girl was recently diagnosed with Type I diabetes and they are looking for a service dog. Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

Contact Dog Trainers Workshop in Fountain Inn SC. They have worked with diabetic alert dogs and may know of someone in the states you mentioned.

K C Owens, a long time RTF member, is doing great work with DA dogs. I was truly amazed to watch young pups alert when I was in Utah judging and KC invited me to her home to see the youngsters working with a child with diabetes. You will find KC's contact information on this website:

I know that KC just got back from the UK where she conducted a conference regarding DA dogs. KC is willing to travel where she is needed!!

I donated a dog to NIDAD. They are based in NV I think, but they may be able to recommend some options in your area. I am pretty sure they will travel to wherever you are, to get both dog and person working as a team.
