Nice! Alright Shawn, you owe it to your son to post up the story on its own thread so he can see it, print it out etc... Awesome buck. Tell us his name too.

Wow, if my little girl shot one that nice it would have made some taxidermist very happy (and my wallet a little lighter)! Good job to you and your son.

Your little girl is the prize. The deer is secondary... (You already know that anyway). The fact that these girls and boys are out there hunting with us these days is a blessing. There are so many things pulling at them, we are fortunate to keep them grounded for as long as we can and to make these memories to treasure. Big buck, smaller buck or doe... Every one of these kids was happy just being out there with us. That's the thing to be thankful for... IMO

Post up more pics when she gets the next one...

Nice deer and congrats to your daughter. Heading to MN for White Tail hunting with a girl on her first hunt at 9 years. She is my Grand Daughter and I hope she has the same luck. She will also be shooting a .243. The other cool deal is my Daughter will join us with hopes of her first deer.

Can wait for this hunt since I bought my Grand Daughter her the first BB gun, her first cricket 22 and a 410 shotgun. Dad picked up the .234. On her 5th BB we had a "deer camp" theme with all the camo and games!

A huge Congrats to all who take the kids out hunting. It is always a thrill to be with them whether they shoot something or not. But now that many of you have got your kids, grandkids, etc hooked you can put your guns away when hunting with them for a few years. Oh you will get to shoot again but it will be when they aren't around or they get a little older. Enjoy this ride because they grow too fast and will be in their own stand before you know it.
What if all we have today is what we gave thanks for yesterday?
