I fall some where between twice year and monthly. Having a female, I wash her after she is done with the messy part of being in heat, then 2x a year when she blows her coat. Even though she is a lab with a short coat, the shedding is just crazy then. The bath really gets all the loose stuff out. The other times she might get a bath is if non-doggy people are coming to visit. Visitors that are staying over at our house, not just the dinner guest ones. Having a small house, and living in a climate where it is cold enough you keep all the windows closed most of the year makes a big difference on how doggy odors are perceived

Depends if you are thinking about 'Bath' 'Bathing' or just getting wet all over!?
No soap here!..That would take out the oil
More than once a week they are also on Dry Land .

    Like Bubba said, It depends.

If you have a Chessie, bathing them just makes the smell worse.

And I've known a Golden owner that bathed her dog every time after it had been outdoors,

Couple times a year. If we are competing in something or helping with something she usually gets cleaned up. I bathe dogs for a living. It's kinda the last thing I want to do after a long day. lol

clarification - I would only and always go the soap and pond thing, given my choice, when necessary. But my wife insists on a "real bath" whenever she detects too much dog odor for her liking.

Where's the Whenever they smell option? Dogs, (particularly inside or Truck dogs) get baths when they smell or when they are tracking Wister mud everywhere; Hunting is hard, dirty work; and sometimes Soap is needed for everyone .

I voted never but in retrospect I do have to wash some blood off the face and chest now that I have a yellow. We'll not call that a bath but rather something more real like better marriage with a vegetarian.

Which begs several questions. How often do RTFer's bathe? How often do they wash their hunting clothes, (inner and outer)? How often do we clean the interior of our trucks? How often do we break down our guns and scrub them? JD

The first question, (ignored) is possibley answered by the fourth responce. Now ask yourself....Does she go to the blind with you in the AM, or go home? JD
