I've hunted with more than a couple old timers (when I say that they are old) that only carried their limit number in shells. Gotta love confidence.

Yeah I get this part "I used to love wearing a vest at the skeet range and also pheasant/quail hunting, but after awhile started feeling more like a pack mule", that is kinda the reason for my question.

Small thing of honey if the pup needs a pick me up. Although, I've never needed to use it.

I carry a lot more now that I have a great vest. I bought a wingworks.biz vest and they are the best, if you are in the market. Kinda pricey but custom made and will outlast me and worth it. Had 2 big water bottles and 6 pheasants in it the other day and rode like a champ.

Shells 10; Two water bottles, one for me and one for dog; Small zip like first aid kit for dog(saline bottle in kit) carry in back of vest; Military green wool gloves; and a couple of hard candies(butterscotch).
