    Default NEF Pistols

After 8 yrs of use I finally broke one of my nef pistols. Smith said its the transfer bar and I have no success finding a replacement. For those who have guns go down what is the most frequent part you have seen fail? After looking at the guts, it appears that the week link is the transfer bar. Will be meeting with a machinists next week to possibly build several for me. Opinions wanted so let's havem.

    It's usually the transfer bar.

Ask the gunsmith, but it's probably heat treated too, hardened.

Nope, transfer bar is attached to trigger and weak point is the hole/pin.

If you have one made, let us know what the guy wants for them. I have never had my NEF apart, but now I'm going to have to take a look. I rue the day that mine bites the dust...

He is a duck hunter so maybe I can barter with him for setup charge. Will have multiples made while he has it setup. Mine is in a ziplock bag in the backseat, hope someone can get it back together.

Ohhh, you mean the LIFTER...you need to order a trigger & lifter assembly. Ask me how I know...

    Numrich Arms. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/

This is the lifter with the pin protruding from both sides...LH for the cylinder rotating arm, RH for the transfer bar I referred to earlier. Hope that helps.

    Items Ordered

Image Product # Description Price Extra Ship Charge Quantity Cost
    336640A Trigger & Lifter Assembly, Blued (V Series & On) $12.35 None 1 $12.35

And yes, that is THE weak link in NEF's. Good luck!
