Thank you, RK and all those who served. I was talking to a lady this weekend about World War 2. We were both old enough to remember that time period. She said one of their neighbors had 3 sons serving during the same time frame. On a positive note all 3 of those men made it home. Others in our community were not as lucky. Uncle "I" was gunned down and spent time hiding and then was captured. He spent time in a German POW camp............not good. He did tell us in later years of the friendships among the prisoners during those years. They helped each other survive.

Not a military family but all Sundstrom's -

Sgt Adney - Infantry - Island hopped all the way to the Phillipines - brought home 6 japanese rifles of 2 different calibers. When reassembling the parts had to go on the gun they came from or the gun would not work.

Lt. Lennart - Tank Destroyers - Battle of the Bulge - got caught in No Man's land during a fire fight & spent the night in a rain barrel hoping no one would use it as a target.

    Major Lawrence - Engineering battalion

    A 1/c Marvin - USAF - Korean vet

    Captain Chris - US Army

???? Marvin Jr. - Marines - anyone realize it was the 236th anniversary of the Jarheads yesterday?

Lt. Mitchell - US Army - did a tour in A'stan & still active duty. Looking forward to getting out & getting on with his life.

Thankfully, to date all came home safe with little desire to talk of those days - I had a very good friend shot up in Korea - became a recluse . We could not get him over that.

Took my father (Army Engineers 1967 Vietnam) out for breakfast before attending the Veterans Day service at the High School, it was a very good day. Thank you all that have served.
