I worry about temperature extremes. Even if the flight itself was relatively brief... you never know what sorts of delays you could face, or how long the plane will get stranded on a tarmac... or how long it may have to circle a field. The greatest terror would be to get separated from the dog (as I have from my baggage) during a plane-change. I would fly my adult dog in cargo only if I absolutely had no choice. Not sure I could do it with a puppy at all.
