    Pet peeves:
-A dog that whines gets under my skin
    -A secret spot stealer
-A guy who tells you how to hunt when they don't know jack...
Things that will get you invited back:
    -Complimenting my dog
    -Good calling
    -Humor

For all of the above reasons, I never hunt with anyone other than my two boys ( now 30 and 32) as I spent over 20 years training them to hunt...and one other guy who is a Viet Nam Veteran, former Marine Officer who I have hunted with for over 25 years.....!

Anybody who doesn't understand that when the dog is outside the blind I am absolutely directing traffic, and there will be no shooting until he gets back into the blind. He is a family member, and if you wouldn't want me shooting while your 10-year-old was out there retrieving ducks for us then I'll thank you for the same courtesy. Not to mention the time, money, and effort I have put into that dog. A duck getting away sort of pales in comparison. It's just not that big a deal.

I've come to avoid pet peeves by not hunting with them. I have few hobbies...the few I have are meant to be successful and enjoyed - not stressful and disappointing. I'd hunt with an old waterfowl veteran anytime but they're few and far between in these parts.
