I had a tritronics field 70 that I used for ten years with no problems, completely satisfied. I just traded it in to collar clinic for a pro100 so I could have a momentary option. So, Tritronics has been my brand of choice. That being said I have heard of some changes coming since they have been bought up by Garmin, most of the things I have read on this forum were not positive changes.

I'd HIGHLY suggest you order Mike Lardy's Total Collar Condition DVD, watch it several times and then decide if you want to collar 'train' your dog, not skipping any of the before, during, and after training.

I've had good success with the classic 70g3. I think cabelas has it on sale Friday for 249 according or the ad I got in the mail.

I am getting training vids also. Not just a ecollar. I want to have my ducks in a row before the pup.

And why I said hunting I was referring to not HT or FT. That's what I was meaning. I understand it will be a teaching/correction tool

I had a Dogtra for about six years. It was very good, never had a problem with it. sold it when my dog died, now that I have another pup I wish I had of kept it. Will probably buy another one when the time comes.
