    The only bedding I use is straw along with a well insulated dog house

    CLEAN (non-moldy) straw is great except that the oats left in it draws mice.

    I'm using cedar ribbons from Lion Country Supply,

    but I have used shredded newspaper (makes yellow dogs black), cedar shavings from the local farm supply place, and hay. Never had access to salt marsh hay.

    My dogs are in a pole barn in a 4X4X4 concrete block house, up on a plastic platform with a verikennel inside the concrete house stuffed with bedding.

    Face door to the east with a two room house. I use a Kirklands best bed from costco.

    I use cotton seed from the cotton gin it works great, keeps coat healthy as well
