Default Sen. Paul Rand Rep ??

Sen. Rand was in Detroit today. He was at the Economic Club. Some very interesting Liberal ideas. Is anyone familiar with him? They said he was a libertarian? He is trying to change the Conservative face of Republicans to ?. Can this be good?

Senator Rand Paul, from Kentucky. Represents the Tea Party wing of the Republican party. Not sure of the "liberal" ideas you mentioned but he is a TRUE conservative, not a RINO!!! I hope he runs for President in 2016...can't wait to vote for him!!!!!!! The Democrat party left Reagan behind so he became a Republican. The Republican party has left me (and Rand Paul) behind, so we've become Tea Party Patriots!!!!!!

Rand Paul has a lot of good ideas. They little snipettes I heard from his speech in Detroit sound like traditional small government policies.

First, Libertarian does not = Liberal. Libertarians are mostly traditional Conservatives that feel the Repub Party has left them. We are mostly pre-Reagan Conservatives, not today's brand of so-called Conservatives or neo-Cons.

Rand has some Libertarian (not to be confused with a Libertine) leanings but he is not considered a Libertarian anymore. Though Rand would make the needed cuts to the budget so as to balance it, he is a Tea Partier when it comes to social policy. Meaning that he supports BIG govenment on social issues.

Basically, the Libertarian Party stands for opposition to state intervention in our private lives, in the economy, and in other countries. Ideals that don't jive with the Teas. Not only is the Libertarian Party the only political party to take a stand against all guns laws for law abiding citizens, we also support a Balanced Budget Amendment which no other party supports. The Libertarian Party is the ONLY party that supports real Liberty from government too big. Whereas the Repubs and Dems support Crony Capitalism, we are the only Party that supports Free Trade and real Capitalism.

The Libertarian Party also would do away with the IRS and the 76,000 pages of Tax Loop holes created by Lobbyist and convert to a Consumption Tax instead. We also advocated taking control of our Monetary Policy as stated in The Constitution and get it out of the hands of foreign bankers. The Teas are basically an anti-abortion group hiding under the guise of wanting smaller government.

Libertarians do NOT pretend to know what is best for other people! Therefore, we support real Liberty in allowing people the Rights to determine what is best for them, the individual. Just as long as it does not infringe on someone else's Rights.

It's such a shame that in the USA, defending Liberty has become such a heroic deed.

On the FOX news this am Rand stated he would like to run. but his wife is opposed because of all the prying into their family life.
Yes and he also said the he does not favor extending your unemployment insurance beyond the X number of days. His reason was that companies will hire people who have been on UI less months than more. So that is more a republican viewpoint.

We have a Political Party, it's called the Libertarian Party with candidates running for local, state and national offices. Just like the Dems and Repubs we have a political platform that defines the movement. And, we won't let it be defined by people that know nothing of it. We are not to be confused for the Tea Party though some of our members were former Teas.

The Libertarian Party is the largest on campus political party and represents a growing base of the 30 something years olds in this country. The appeal is with the younger generation that are Fiscally Conservative and are Socially tolerant.

Young Americans For Liberty is a student Libertarian organization with over 500 campus organizations and 67,000 members!

The mission of YAL is to identify, educate, train, and mobilize youth activists committed to "winning on principle." They set up sites across campuses where they spread information on The Constituition with the 1st and 2nd Amendment the most popular subjects.
