Default My dog is eating ..

OK weird (to me anyway), my dogs are pawing up the grass in my yard to eat grass roots and soil in the root zone.

Anyone else see this, can explain it or have a cure?

Been going on for several months and nothing has changed in their diet or lifestyle. No fertilizer or pesticide applications to lawn either.

My parents dogs eat dirt all the time, my guess is they are lacking some kind of mineral....

Moles? MY old guys are wrecking the lawn chasing a mole. The younger ones don't seem bothered. The old guys dig near a tunnel and then consume the grass and roots they dug up. It is all along the mole tunnel path.

one of mine does too. Can't figure it out. Bites with front teeth down to soil and starts eating roots/soil. I kinda wonder about minerals or nutrients too.

Grass. dirt, turkey poop, deer poop and on and on. With a Labrador it is understood that they have both boredom issues and just plain bad free diet choices.....
